MERKO has started the construction of the new stage of the Vilneles Skverai residential project

MERKO continues to develop the project Vilnelės skverai, initiated a few years ago, and the construction of the new phase of houses has started.

New phase (Kaukysos) consists of eight buildings of six to seven storeys with 303 apartments. Prospective purchasers will be able to choose between one-, two-, three-, and four-room apartments ranging in size from 32 to 100 square metres. Every one of them will have a balcony or a patio. The underground car storage area will accommodate 355 cars and electric vehicles, as well as bicycle storage and warehouses.

Buyers can already choose apartments in two buildings, starting at EUR 2,890 per square metre. The units will be offered in their fully completed state. The construction of two biuldings is scheduled for completion in the fourth quarter of 2023. The apartments in the other houses will be sold later.

The project will consist of four separate squares

“We’ve noticed that the area already has a large fan base. Families and adults who like an active lifestyle opt to live here. The new neighbourhood between the Old Town, Užupis and Belmontas, is appealing both to those interested in events and entertainment in the city centre, in the Old Town, as well as to fans of sporty leisure, who want to take a walk in the parks after work or ride their bicycles on the banks of the Vilnelė River”, Saulius Putrimas, the manager of MERKO in Lithuania, reflected on the reasons behind the project’s popularity.

The first two squares, located at Manufakturů Street, are almost completed, 85% of 450 apartments have already found their buyer.

Vilneles Skverai residential quarter comprises in total of 26 new residential buildings with more than a thousand apartments. The buildings will group around a common yard with cozy green spaces, children’s playgrounds and recreation areas. The new residential quarter also includes commercial premises where businesses provide services to local residents. Pedestrian promenades will connect all of the squares, and each square will be an enclosed space surrounded by residences. In the shared inner area between the residences, there will be a cosy leisure yard with gazebos, seats, trees, children’s playgrounds.

Each square will be characterised by its distinct architecture and colourful facades, but despite the individual visual expressions, the building will be retained as a whole, emphasising oneness with the surrounding environment, according to architect Tadas Balčiūnas, who designed the dwellings.

Convenient access to other parts of the city

This is the second complex built by MERKO in the territory of the conversion project Architecture Park implemented by Vilnius Municipality. The first one, Vilnelės slėnis, was finished a few years ago, directly on the banks of the Vilnel River.

From the commencement of the first block’s construction until today, the territory has changed dramatically: new streets have been erected, pavements have been put, there is no longer a concrete factory functioning here, and the environment has been landscaped. The newcomers also attract firms that offer the services they require.
