New MERKO Project in Vilnius – Šnipiškių URBAN
Šnipiškių URBAN residential quarter
Merko proudly unveils Šnipiškių URBAN, a cutting-edge residential quarter set to redefine modern living in Vilnius. As the name suggests, the development offers the perfect blend of comfort, style, and convenience, with the first homes ready in Šnipiškės by late 2026.
“Location is everything when it comes to choosing a home. With Šnipiškės undergoing a remarkable renaissance, we’re thrilled to offer homes in this dynamic district. Our vision caters to city enthusiasts who seek the buzz of central Vilnius, with easy access to business hubs, shopping centres, and the lively rhythm of urban life,” says Saulius Putrimas, CEO of MERKO Lithuania.
Residential Quarter of Six Buildings
Exact address of the new residential quarter – Daugėliškio g. 33A. The development will feature six elegant residential buildings on the currently neglected plot.
“Our architectural approach embraces the area’s unique scale and atmosphere. Šnipiškės is evolving into Vilnius’ second city centre, so we aimed for the buildings to harmonise with their environment while also standing out through their appearance and the quality of the materials used. The project’s innovation and uniqueness lie in the rounded shapes of the buildings and balconies, creating an impression of cosiness and an inviting atmosphere. An unconventional choice for the balcony finishing has been made – aluminium sheets coated in a dark gold hue. The idea was to contrast with the colour of the building facades, creating a warm, inviting ambiance. Imagine balconies that shimmer under the setting sun or reflect the vibrant city lights at night – these are homes that inspire,” explains Ignas Lukauskas, architect at UAB Vilniaus Architektūros Studija, who designed the project. By the way, the same award-winning team behind Lithuania’s best residential real estate project, Vilnelės Slėnis, that earned the title of the best residential real estate project in Lithuania, brings their expertise to Šnipiškių URBAN.
To the south, a lush green buffer zone along Daugėliškio Street offers a serene retreat, featuring a segmented park with trees, charming small architectural elements, and cosy spaces for relaxation and social gatherings. On the northern side of the development, a vibrant commercial plaza will come to life, enhanced by newly planted trees and lush greenery. Designed as a dynamic space for shopping and socialising, this area will seamlessly blend urban convenience with natural beauty, including children’s playgrounds. According to the architect, the vision for the courtyard incorporates an innovative elevated design, adding a unique dimension to this communal space.
The entire development will be gated, ensuring privacy and security, with access reserved exclusively for residents and their guests. As part of the project, Daugėliškio and Laumėnų Streets will be upgraded, adding value and vibrancy to the surrounding area.
The six high-rise buildings will house 229 meticulously designed apartments, ranging from 30 to 110 square meters, each featuring a private terrace or balcony. A two-level underground parking garage, with space for 241 vehicles, under the entire block, will include individual electric vehicle charging stations – a nod to sustainable urban living. Bicycle storage facilities will further enhance eco-friendly commuting options.
The ground floors will feature vibrant commercial spaces, bringing stores and businesses directly to residents. From everyday essentials to specialty services, everything you need is just steps away.
Šnipiškių URBAN is set to welcome residents between 2026 and 2027, with a total project value of 45 million euro (excluding VAT).
Leveraging on Decades of MERKO’s Excellence
Šnipiškių URBAN continues MERKO’s legacy of crafting high-quality residential spaces. As the company’s third major project in Šnipiškės, it reflects years of expertise and innovation. New residents moved in several years ago at another location – 73 Krokuvos Street, part of the Rinktinės URBAN project.
“Building this residential quarter, our team is applying the best practices honed through previous projects, investing in cutting-edge architectural solutions, premium materials, and advanced technologies. The project seamlessly blends thoughtfully designed shared and private spaces, soaring high ceilings, and expansive panoramic windows. These features create an unparalleled sense of openness, offering residents a luxurious living experience bathed in natural light. Every home in this development meets cutting-edge A++ energy efficiency standards. With individual ventilation systems, underfloor heating, and provisions for air conditioning,” said the head of MERKO Lithuania.
With nearly 2,000 apartments already built in Vilnius, MERKO has earned its reputation as a leader in residential construction. Currently, homes are available only in the highly sought-after Vilnelės Skverai project in Markučiai and the newly launched Šnipiškių URBAN development. “We envision a vibrant and diverse community at this new quarter. From ambitious professionals thriving in nearby business hubs to families seeking the convenience of nearby schools, kindergartens and amenities, and even empty nesters embracing the ease of central city living – this project offers something for everyone,” explained S. Putrimas.
