Vilnelės skverai (Vilnelė Squares) is a new residential complex being developed by MERKO; it will be located on Manufaktūrų Street, close to the Old Town, between Užupis and Belmontas. Construction of the first quarter houses began in October and should be completed in the first half of 2022.
The successful implementation of the Vilnelės slėnis (Vilnelė Valley) project encouraged MERKO to start this new project. We can see that in this place – between the Old Town, Užupis and the green parks of Vilnius – a unique modern city center is emerging. Instead of the former factories, new houses and streets are now being built: a wide boulevard with bicycle and pedestrian paths will lead directly to Vilnius Old Town.
In the territory of the Architecture Park initiated by Vilnius City Municipality, people who want to live close both to nature and the Old Town are buying property. This is a great solution for those who appreciate active outdoor leisure and love strolling in the narrow streets of Vilnius Old Town.
There is no doubt that this unique area will attract people who will create a friendly, appreciative community.
„Vilnelės skverai“ is modern, economical, energy-efficient A+ class housing. Distinctive features of these urban-style buildings are regular shape façades and large panoramic windows.
The construction of the first, second, and third quarter residential buildings has been completed.
In the fourth phase, six- to seven-story buildings are being constructed, with a total of 318 planned apartments. The development offers one- to four-room apartments ranging in size from 28 to 90 square meters.
The houses will have underground car parks where electric car charging stations will be installed upon request. For the convenience of the residents, individual and shared bicycle storage facilities will be available.
The quarter is designed so that its residents feel comfortable and happy to return home and spend time not only inside the apartment but also in the surrounding area. A spacious and safe pedestrian zone has been designed among the houses. The buildings will group around a common yard with cozy green spaces, children’s playgrounds and recreation areas – for physical activity, quiet leisure and rest after a workday.
In the new residential quarter, there is also a commercial promenade where businesses provide services to the residents of the surrounding buildings. These include beauty salons, flower shops, cafés, bakeries, and more.
